Alternative Cancer Therapy and the American Cancer Society: Critique of the organization's focus on pharmaceutical treatments and the financial benefits of early cancer

drugstores to buy certain compounds and so forth that is really a PR operation for the pharmaceutical industry it's a shocking thing and as I mentioned before if a cure for cancer were to be found the American Cancer Society would be out of business and so you can see right away that there's not much motivation there to really find a cure for cancer unfortunately now that doesn't mean that the people who donate their money to the American Cancer Society are aware of this and it doesn't mean that the people working at the middle management for the American Cancer Society aware of this but it means those at the top those who are making the these strategic decisions are very much aware and they're not those organizations are not interested in treatments for cancer that are from the natural field they are only interested in treatments for cancer that come from the chemistry side from the pharmaceutical side and so as I say they're just like a PR firm for the pharmaceutical industry, unfortunately. Okay, finally, October is Breast Cancer Month. What's your thoughts on the Pink Campaign, as they call it? Well, I think that's a perfect example of what I mentioned a moment ago. Breast Cancer Month doesn't cure any cancer cancer what it does is it drives a lot of women into their doctor's offices to get mammograms and other x-rays and so forth and to get them into the treatment cycle as quickly as possible to start producing a cash flow to the cancer industry when you realize that early diagnosis does not improve the rate of cure at all not at all I mean the impression is well the sooner you discover it the better chance you have of beating it that's what most people think but when you look at the statistics it doesn't prove that at all what it proves is that sooner you discover it the sooner you start paying for treatment you say the sooner you start the money flowing into the cancer industry but your chances of survival are unchanged by the early diagnosis so you tell me what's the advantage of early diagnosis It's only one thing, and that's to send money into the cancer industry. What we see in our organization now is lots of people turning to us, telling us how frustrated they are with our health care system and also that they don't have free access to healthy, good, natural supplements. Do you have any comments on the trends among people today and how we can make a change? I believe that the average civilized, I'll put that in quotes, civilized person today has been conditioned to be far too passive in terms of his rights. I think in our generation we've forgotten that rights are not inherited. We would like to think they were, but they must be fought for. They must be earned. earned every generation must earn its rights if you're not willing to stand up for your rights and to become controversial and to speak out and to join with others and fight for your rights whether it's your health rights or your right freedom of speech political opinion travel whatever it is if you're not willing to do that you are going to lose your right we're well on the road today to losing many of our rights it's not all of them somewhere in the near future mainly I think because we are passive we've been told that well it's we don't want to be controversial let's just go along you know and fine that's a choice that people can take if they wish but then they have no complaint when people are telling them what to do and that's not in their best interest I think it's time for a renaissance a real reawakening of the fact that as human beings we have a responsibility for our lives and that we are the ones who should determine the social order in which we live and not those above I think we need to start challenging the Orthodox we need to challenge Authority if you will but more than that we need to recapture it we can't just say well whatever they tell us to do we have to do because they're the authority that may be true but if we don't like what they're telling us to do Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. can't just say well whatever they tell us to do we have to do because they're the authority that may be true but if we don't like what they're telling us to do then let's replace them let's find a new cadre a new a group of people with a new mindset in fact how about ourselves stepping forward and becoming candidates for leadership positions I think we have to start becoming We need unity, we need people to join together in an organizational effort, and we need to put our sights upward so that we can begin to move up into the hierarchy of society and assume leadership positions. So that we're not just writing letters of petition and saying, oh please won't you do what we want you to do. We have to start being the people that make the decisions. And that means we have to be willing to devote a substantial part of our financial resources and a substantial part of our personal time and effort. If we're not willing to do that, then we're just going to be passive and be told what to do, and we might as well forget about complaining. I think the time has come for us to move up and to take control. Mr. Griffin, thank you very much. Thank you.
