worked on a number of very exciting, challenging programs such as the General Electric Aircraft Nuclear Propulsion (GEANP) program, nuclear fission rockets for Westinghouse Astronuclear Laboratory, fusion rockets and compact space reactors for Aeroje General Nucleonics, the ransportable military compac reactor for General Motors Allison Division, the Pioneer spacecraft for [RW Systems, and trying to back- engineer UFOs for McDonnel Douglas Astronautics. The Manned Orbiting Laboratory program which supported the latter was cancelled he week I reported for work. I have also done some scientific consulting work since moving to Fredericton, New Brunswick, in 1980, such as on the commissioning of the Point Lepreau nuclear power plant ere in New Brunswick, studies on he radon problem, on the recovery and utilisation of waste heat from power plants and on_ seed stimulation with radiation. Frank Joseph conducted this pointed interview with him in November 2011. Frank Joseph (FJ): What made you take the step from university- trained professional scientist to UFO investigator? Stanton Friedman (SF): | am not primarily a UFO investigator but a communicator, having given more than 700 lectures in all 50 states, nine Canadian provinces and 16 other countries. I have also done hundreds of radio and TV programs and am working on my fifth book. | did a weekly science commentary for CBC Radio here for six years and had done many dozens of radio pieces for KFI in Los Angeles.
