¢ Case 7: Bukit Mertajam, 1979. A small UFO landed on a field near some boys. One boy tried to catch a three-inch creature that emerged from it. It fired a beam that temporarily paralysed his right arm. The UFO then flew away. From these seven reported encounters in Malaysia, from the first known landing in 1970 through May 1979, there were five cases of close encounters with tiny humanoids, and two cases from the East Malaysia where no UFO was sighted. Cases |, 2, 3, 4 and 7 occurred in West Malaysia. All these sightings were reported by schoolchildren, and all the landings took place on school premises. The creatures measured, in all cases, either three inches or six inches tall. All were equipped with a type of ray gun. They were described as well dressed in one-piece suits. Some had a slightly larger head and round eyes. The three-inch humanoids sometimes had two antenna-like structures protruding from the head. There were three more probable encounters with tiny humanoids in Malaysia, but unfortunately the origin of the incidents cannot be traced. One case, a probable landing, occurred on 26 May 1979 near Kulim, where the witnesses, three boys and two adults, claimed to have sighted a small UFO hovering a few feet above the ground, perhaps in an attempt to land since its three landing gears were already down. When the witnesses tried to touch the object, an intense light ray shone into their eyes and temporarily blinded them. This shows that the small UFO was_ intelligently controlled from inside. Considering the craft's small size, estimated at about two feet [~0.61 cm] in diameter, the UFO occupants, if there were any inside, would have to measure about three inches in height to fit comfortably inside the object. Of nine reported landings or encounters with humanoids, seven cases occurred in broad daylight; only two were known to have taken place at night. There have been no reports of encounters with UFO occupants after dawn. Almost all of the UFOs sighted at close range on the ground or hovering close to the ground measured on average less than three feet in diameter. UFOs that were sighted in the air were usually of a large size. There have been reports of a disc-shaped UFO as big as a house flying over the hilly country in eastern Malaysia, and a long elliptical object like a neon light was also sighted high in the sky. Why are Malaysian encounters with UFOs and humanoids characterised by tiny sizes when compared with sightings in other parts of the world? Why do most andings occur in the daytime when other worldwide landings usually appen at night? If deception is part of the UFO phenomenon, then the iny size of these humanoids may allow them to easily escape unnoticed. Since there have been no reports of encounters with bigger or uman-sized humanoids in the dark ours, then we again ask why most andings have to be conducted in the daytime. It has been observed that UFOs seem to be attracted to the fracture- zone areas of high seismic activity. In fact, it can be seen that there are fewer UFO reports from earthquake- free areas or countries compared with the bulk of reports from earthquake zones or areas that have records of or have "felt" even the slightest earth tremors. Malaysia is an earthquake-free country. The areas of gravitational and magnetic anomalies which UFOs may use to operate so effectively are lacking in this region. Is the tiny size a compensation for the manoeuvrability to land on and take off from a magnetically stable area?
