Crop Circces 2011 Towards a New Era? 2011 CROP CIRCLES Era? ‘owards New This season’s crop formations took a slight step back from the geometric and aesthetic heights of recent years, but still managed to surprise and put crop-watchers into suspense as to what the much-heralded year 2012 may bring. Cycles of Time and Change he end, apparently, is nigh, as so many people seem very keen to impress upon us. But the end of what, exactly? With mainstream coverage of (claimed) Rapture schedules, Japanese tsunamis, NASA warnings of dangerous increases in solar activity, Arab uprisings, widespread social unrest and global economic disasters looming, not to mention the hysteria in alternative realms around coming devastations from Comet Elenin and/or the long-lost planet Nibiru, assertions that fulfilment of the many oft-discussed prophecies for 2012 might finally be kicking off have begun to gather credence. It hardly seems possible that 2012 is now almost upon us. For years it seemed like some far-off and wistful fairytale future; but now, here we are and the unsettling developments do indeed seem to be accelerating. For some, "2012" is about an evolutionary leap of social consciousness rather than a specific event, but many others are awaiting a direct shift, be it cosmological, spiritual or geophysical—one that will help dislodge the accumulated human mistakes of the past and force positive, if temporarily disturbing, change. It is an often overlooked fact, though, that for numerous people one of the key introductions to the 2012 phenomenon has been the crop circle mystery. As far back as 1997, formations started to appear in the fields that directly referenced the ancient 5,125-year time cycle of the Maya and other ancien cultures, long before the subject went mainstream. Indeed, it took a huge (i controversial) wheel of Mayan-like symbols near Silbury Hill, Wiltshire, on 2-3 August 2004 to take 2012 into the British tabloid newspapers for the first time, under the headline "The Doomsday Crop Circle”. Other designs, such as the remarkable diagram of our solar system as it wil be on the crucial date of 21 December 2012 (the changeover point of the time cycle), which appeared near Avebury Manor, Wiltshire, on 15 July 2008, restated the importance of the connection (and with only what was presumed 0 be Pluto—or was it Nibiru?—placed differently to where astronomy would expect it to be). Therefore, through two decades of extraordinary crop glyphs from their firs’ real explosion of complexity in 1990, a feeling has grown that one of their primary purposes may always have been to build up those paying attention to hem to be ready for a time of huge change—one due to occur about now. This is felt strongly, even by some convinced that many or all of the formations ave been expressions of human divination rather than anything beyond this world. However, what this has also meant is that an ephemeral quality has slowly been woven into the expectations surrounding the phenomenon—a urking fear that all this beauty and complex symbolism might suddenly be whisked away once the time that they are heralding arrives. For some, the crop formations of 2011, especially in their early weeks, seemed to suggest hat the first step towards this stage might have been reached at last. by Andy Thomas © August 2011 Email: info@vitalsignspublishing.co.uk Websites: www.truthagenda.org www.vitalsignspublishing.co.uk Email: info@vitalsignspublishing.co.uk Websites: www.truthagenda.org www. vitalsignspublishing.co.uk NEXUS ¢ 59 OCTOBER - NOVEMBER 2011 www.nexusmagazine.com
