4 • NEXUS www.nexusmagazine.com FEBRUARY – MARCH 2002Australia: Humanity's Cradle? I just wanted to know what my fellow NEXUS readers think inrelation to this one theory I have. Australia is one of the oldest con- tinents in the world, with theworld's oldest living surviving cul-ture of people: the Australianindigenous people, who have paint-ings that date as far back as 40,000years. I put the following ques-tions to readers of NEXUS andalso members of the scientific com-munity. Firstly: why is there still a theory in use today that AustralianAboriginal people came from Asia, even though no archaeological evi-dence exists in other parts of Asiathat would corroborate this theory? And secondly: is it possible that because Australian Aboriginal cul-ture is the oldest surviving cultureon Earth—and coupled with thefact that Australia is now populatedwith every race of people from allcorners of the globe and has everyclimate on Earth in its boundaries(i.e., tropical and subtropical in thenorth of Australia, snow in thesoutheast corner of the continent,Mediterranean and subterranean inSouth Australia and WesternAustralia and desert in 90 per centof the country), plus the fact thatthe land is under the heavenlybody, the Southern Cross—couldAustralia in theological and philo-sophical terms be playing a majorpart in the enlightenment and bet-terment of mankind at the dawn ofthe Age of Aquarius? By writing the above, I do not wish to offend and/or insult othercultures and people of the worldbut just want an opinion on thistheory, however far-fetched. If youwould like to respond to this, emails can be sent to: blackstarea-gle@hotmail.com. Thank you. Ben Rankins, Australia Frontier Psychiatry Warning Dear Duncan: We read with great interest the article, "ANutritional Approach to TreatingADHD", in the Oct–Nov 2001issue [8/06] of your magazine. Thesubject matter is something that wehave completed quite a deal ofresearch on. There is an equallydisturbing matter which we wouldlike to draw to your attention. Are you familiar with projects EPPIC, PACE and NEPP*—therecruitment of young people by social workers, school counsellorsand the like for administering ofneuroleptic drugs and the overallabuse of mentally ill people by thepsychiatric profession? (* EPPIC:Early Psychosis Prevention andIntervention Centre; PACE:Personal Assistance and CrisisEvaluation; NEPP: National EarlyPsychosis Project) Unsuspecting, emotionally dis- turbed young people are deemedmentally ill and they are treatedwith psychiatric drugs instead ofbeing given counselling and reha-bilitative treatment. They arelocked in mental institutions and, without consent, exposed to chemi-cal lobotomy or ECG as well asdenied other basic human rights. The general public is not aware ofthese experiments. One has to wonder about the high rate of suicide amongst our youth.Shame, shame, shame! L. Young, Australia, lyoung@ terrigal.net.au Bush Family Supported Hitler Dear Duncan and NEXUS staff: Hi; hope you are all well andhappy. I found this amazing info atMr Jon Rappoport's fantastic site,nomorefakenews.com, and thoughtit would surely be of interest toNEXUS readers. It is a piece byCarla Binion from Online Journal of December 21, 2000, and statesthat: "In [a] Simpson book, The Splendid Blonde Beast , the author wrote about George H. W. Bush'sfather, Prescott, and his maternalgrandfather, George HerbertWalker. Both Bert Walker andPrescott Bush were powerful finan-cial supporters of Adolf Hitler. "Walker was president of Union Banking Corporation, a firm thattraded with Germany and helpedGerman industrialists consolidateHitler's political power. Simpsonsays Union Banking became a Nazimoney-laundering machine. "Walker helped take over North American operations ofHamburg–Amerika Line, a ship-ping line and cover for I. G.Farben's Nazi espionage unit in theUS. Hamburg–Amerika smuggledin German agents and brought inmoney for bribing American politi-cians to support Hitler. A 1934congressional investigation showedHamburg– Amerika subsidized Nazi propaganda efforts in the US. "George H. W. Bush's father, Prescott, was a board member ofUnion Banking. The US govern-ment investigated both Bert Walkerand Prescott Bush, and under theTrading with the Enemy Act seizedall shares of Union Banking, including shares held by PrescottBush. The government held that'huge sections of Prescott Bush'sempire had been operated on behalfof Nazi Germany and had greatlyassisted the German war effort'." I always suspected those MFs to be Nazis, but to have it laid out likethat so clearly is really creepy. Why have we heard nothing of thisin the media? Ha! What a sillyquestion. Keep up the struggle! Love,Kathryn (You'll never take me alive!) McCloghry, Australia,kathrynmccloghry@bigpond.com Tesla's Longitudinal EM Waves Dear NEXUS: I was interested by the mention of Tesla in the arti-cle by Gavin Dingley onParaSETI/ET contact via subtleenergies ["Harnessing theUniversal Cosmic Energy",NEXUS 8/05–06], where Teslawas using a different type of radiothan we use nowadays—i.e., usinglongitudinal electromagnetic wavesinstead of transverse waves. I have something that ties into this. In an article I sent you sometime ago, I described how todemonstrate the longitudinal wavenature of electromagnetic waves. The electronic device demonstratesan effect that Alexander GrahamBell showed. An electronic device can be con- structed, consisting of a photosen-sitive cell connected to a frequen-cy-changing network connected toaudio output speaker. The frequen-cy changer is set to convert the fre-quencies at which light operatesinto audio sound level frequenciesthat the human ear is used to. Once a light source is shone onto this device, sound comes out of itas light frequencies are convertedinto sound. The light source can beplaced a very long distance awayfrom the device and it still works. The amazing feature is, if a sound is made at the light source, such asby a tuning fork or by someonespeaking, then this sound is alsopicked up by the device and comes out of the speaker. It does notseem to matter how far the soundsource is away from the device: solong as it is between the path of thelight source and the device, thesound is transmitted. (NB: thebest light source is DC.) Sound is a longitudinal wave, and so by its interaction with light itdemonstrates that light has a longi-tudinal wave effect. I have been looking into this sort of thing for some time now. If youare interested in a longer accountof how this electromagnetic effectsits in with other things I haveresearched, then see below.Thanks. Roger Anderton, R.J.Anderton @btinternet.com Secret Tunnels in Australia Dear Duncan: I was interested to read the article on underwaterbases and tunnels in the vol. 8, no.5 issue. On a similar theme, a col-league of mine related the story ofhow he stumbled on somethingunusual. He and a mate were driving from Coonabarabran to Narrabri on theNewell Highway, New SouthWales, about 20 years ago. Abouthalfway between the two towns, they stopped the car to "answer thecall of nature". The road was iso-lated in tree and scrub country, there being no town, settlement orhomestead anywhere nearby. They descended the bank from the road and saw an open manholeamongst the trees, half hidden in thedappled shade. They moved toinvestigate. The manhole coverwas hinged open, its upper surfacecovered in camouflage bark. Theaccess shaft it had concealed went ashort distance down. Curious, my colleague and his friend climbed down the ladder to around well-lit tunnel. Its diameterwas much taller than they and wasperfectly straight, vanishing intothe distance on either side of them. The walls were of finished concreteand rails were set into the floor, perhaps for a goods/ passengervehicle of some type. The two menchose not to explore further. This tunnel was obviously not some cramped serviceway fortelecommunications conduits. Itwas meant as a transport corridor, and, given the remote location ofLetters to the Editor ...
