There is litle doubt that Tim MeVeigh, currently under arrest, was involved. Neither he nor his lawyer has strenuously denied it. But it is also clear that thete were | more people involved, people who are walking around free today, people whom the Federal.government secm curiously disinterested in arresting. Two: Oklahoma residents, Glenn. and Kathy Wilburn, who Jost their grandchildren, have done the work the FBI would-not do and identified the John Dee IL whe was seen renting the Ryder truck with McVeigh. His name is Michael Brescia, a former universi- ty student from Philadelphia. Switching the crime scene for a moment from Oklahoma to Arkansas, the Arkansas State Police last week announced that the badly decomposed bodies of William Mueller, his wife and daughter had been found in a bayou in Pope County, Arkansas. The family had been missing since January. It.tums out that there is a connection between Mueiler and Brescia, and it leads:from Arkansas to Timothy McVeigh and the Oklahoma bombing. Mueller’s home was burgled in early 1995. Mueller told friends that he may have known who took US$50,000 in gold and silver bullion, coins, guns and gun parts in early:1995. He feared they would return and kill him. The burglary took place just two months after another gun burglary in Arkansas in which similar items, later linked-to the bombing in Oklahoma, were taken. Michael Fortier of Kingman, Arizona, has pleaded guilty to selling guns from the Arkansas burglary to a Kingman pawn shop. Fortier says he did so under instructions from Tim McVeigh. Ata gun show in Port Smith, Arkansas, Mueller had met a man by the name of Andreas Strassmeir, Strassmeir, a former intelligence officer of the German Army, has been living at Elohim City, a religious cult base in Oklahoma, where he received a call from Tim McVeigh a few days before the Oklahoma bombing. This.is where Brescia fits into.the picture. He shared.a house with Strassmeir. at Elohim City. Both Strassmeir and Brescia appear to be government informants tasked to infiltrate the patriot/survivalist-communities. They were expelled from Elohim City. in the summer of 1995 for “stirring up things". Brescia went on to stay with George Eaton, publisher-of-a patriot newsletter, who was also a good friend:of the Mueller fam- ily that was found dead last week. Strassmeir will be named.a "US Federal informant with material knowledge of the bombing" in a lawsuit to be filed by the Wilburns who Jost their grandchildren. And now to the crucial question: ‘Where was Brescia on the day-of the Oklalioma bombing? “He was in Little Rock;" claims Strassmeir, interviewed by the London | Telegraph in Germany eatlier this year. . If-Strassmeir and Brescia are both government informants, it would explain the lack -of interest the PBI has shown-in these two men. It is the Wilburns and McVeigh's lawyer who have been pursuing the Elohim City connection. In fact, the FBI appears to have been outright hostile to witnesses who claim to have seen’ McVeigh and Brescia together. Connie Smith told the London Telegraph: “I kept telling them that the man in the [John Doe II] sketch was that Mike guy, a nice-looking guy, dark-skinned. But the FBI made me feel guilty, then ignorant, as if 1 didn’t know what I was saying. Then later, I tried to call in-with more information and they wouldn't even talk to me.” This is beginning to sound. like the FBI investigation of the death of Vince Foster, , where witness Patrick Knowlton has told The Washington Weekly of similar harassment : and falsification of evidence by the FBI. It.is clear that since the:firing of FBI Director William Sessions the day before Foster died in.1993, the FBI has been turned into a purely political instrument. What political ) interest is there in covering up the Strassmeir/Brescia connection to the Oklahoma bombing? It is quite simple. If they-were government informants, the government had advance knowledge of the Oklahoma bombing and could have stopped it. Such.a reye- lation would likely topple the Washington Establishment. That may be the reason why Brescia is still walking free, the FBI is intimidating wit- nesses, only the foreign press is covering the lawsuit by the Wilburns, and people. who : know too much are found dead in Arkansas bayous. Writes Mr Aldrich, who says he took early retirement from the FBI to get out of the White House: "I left the Clinton White House thinking I'd spent more than two years back on the streets, fighting a new mafia—this one from Arkansas.” He said he wrote the book—begun after his departure from the White House in the summer of 1995 and completed that December—because he “thought the American people had a right to know about it” and "my conscience compelled me to write this book". On a separate matter, two of President Clinton's former business associates, along with Governor Jim Guy in Arkansas, were convicted in early June of fraud and con- spiracy centred around a complex loan- swapping—or, according to some, money- laundering scheme. Hillary Clinton has also come under fire for her complicity in Whitewater, and her involvement in a top-level cover-up after the murder/suicide of Vincent Foster. She faces the possibility of criminal charges. More recently, President Clinton has put on hold a sexual harassment lawsuit against him by Ms Paula Jones, which could have forced a medical examination of his geni- tals.
