COMMUNIQUE Letters to the Editor S omeone | know once said “Change is the only: constant thing inthe Universe”, and thishas been true for Nexus Magazine. We hope you like the new style and format. Inthe course of restructuring Nexus, many people have given invaluable time and resources to make Nexus possible. These people have my deepest thanks. It is always tempting to use the editorial column as a soap-box, in the hopes that it will change the world, but for your sake I'll keep it to the point. We publish Nexus Magazine with the aim of providing information that the “mainstream” media either ignore, overlook or consider un-newsworthy. As world events accelerate, many people are feeling that they have little or no real choice in their lives any more. | believe that the more information one has, the greater the range of choices available to you. We leave to you, the reader, the task of drawing your own conclusions from the information inside this issue. RS. AIDS Supplement You are to be congratulated on an excellent job. ithas been impossible for concerned but non-expert people who have only limited access to information, (and no access at all to the most crucial information) to put together a true picture of what was from the start, a most puzzling phenomenon. Jam impressed, not only by Mr Ayana’s incredibly thorough research, but by his clear and logical marshalling of the facts. These facts have given me answers to the questions I've had in my mind ever since AIDS burst upon us. The fact that it’s a man- made virus doesn’t surprise me in the least, and the reminder that the article gives us of the insane, criminalandobscene experimenting with engineering of life-forms inimical to life, is a necessary one. Its both areassuring and deeply disturbing article — reassuring that life/nature itself has not thrown AIDS into the arena; disturbing that human engineering has. Prof. Lovelock says of Gaia that it’s not a question of whether man will destroy the Earth, but whether the Earth will destroy man because, as a species, he is not compatible to her system. I think man is doing his amoral best to hasten that end! My daughter passed this copy of the supplement tome; I'm getting one for myself and some for others. Everyone should read it! (Usé the coupons on pages 3 and 4). | leave you with this rather interesting quote from Mr John Swinton, Editor of The New York Times, at the annual dinner of the American Press Association, in 1914. M Gazey, WA ‘There is no such thing as an independent press in America, if we except that of little country towns. You know this and | know it. Not a man among you dares to utter his honest opinion. Were you to utter it, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print...” 418 in than Anis Af a Klaus Varle insirnalict ta lia ta i C: ongratulations on your resurrection, | thought maybe you had packed up and retired, leaving us with little else in the way of decent news and information. | am an ex-public servant, or should | have said ex-"big brother” servant, who became aware of certain “funny business” in our admin- istration. The more | delved, the more distraught | became with the sell-out of Australia to multi- and international interests. | am personally preparing for aneconomiccrash of immense proportions, resulting in a very different Australia, and a very different world. | advise you all to do likewise. No name or address supplied. (| wonder why? Ed) ee “It is the duty of a New York journalist to lie, to revile, to toady at the feet of Mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread, or what amounts to the same thing, his salary.” "We are the tools and the vassals of the rich behind the scenes. We are marionettes. These men pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives and our capacities are all the property of these men ~ we are intellectual prostitutes!” NEXUS
