Meanwhile, the United States Air Force released another state- ment, saying that the object was actually a secret Mogul balloon (a conventional weather balloon with high-tech detection equipment) and that the reported alien bodies were only test dummies used in rocket tests. The answer, it seemed, was finally found. However, this explanation fell to pieces when UFO researchers uncovered the fact that test dummies were not used until the mid-1950s, which was long And so the controversy continues. Today, more than 10 books have been written about the events at Roswell, with some claiming that there was more than one crash. One of the latest books, The Day Af- ter Roswell, written by Colonel Philip Corso, claims that the Roswell wreckage was used to help create some of today’s advanced technol- ogy, including the integrated circuit, fiber optics, night-vision goggles, and more. Today, the Roswell crash remains the single most famous UFO incident of all time.*® United States observed a bright green meteor flash across the sky. At first, that seemed the end of the story, and for most people it was. For the citizens of Kecksburg, Pennsylvania, however, the story had just begun. On that night, dozens of people in Kecksburg watched the meteor apparently slow down, make a gradual turn, and crash in the forest just outside of town.
