What to Do If You See a UFO >“ do you know if you are seeing a true UFO? And what should you do if you do see one? The following three steps will help guide you in the event of your very own close encounter: STEP ONE: CRITICAL OBSERVATION. If you see something you think might be a UFO, you will first want to determine if it might be something conventional, such as an airplane, ball lightning, or something else mundane. UFOs usually display three main characteristics: strange sound, strange appearance, and strange movement. If what you are observing looks strange, sounds strange, and moves strangely, you may be seeing an actual UFO. For example, a plane displays red and green wing lights, has a loud engine noise, and usually moves in a straight line. UFOs, however, are often quiet or silent, are covered with multi-colored lights, and hover or dart at right angles. STEP TWO: CONFIRMATION. Once you have determined that you are seeing a genuine UFO, you will want to try to confirm this fact. One good way is to get more witnesses. A UFO sighting by one person is easily ignored, but if a dozen or more people see a UFO, the encounter can become front- page news and make UFO history.
