- Al About the Author PRESTON DENNETT began investigating UFOs in 1986 when he discovered that his family, friends, and co-workers were having dramat- ic encounters. He is a field investigator for the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and a member of the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS). He has investigated UFO encounters of virtually every type, and has been referred cases by the local police. He has written ten books and more than 100 articles, with translations into German, Portuguese, Chinese, and Icelandic. He has appeared on numerous television and radio programs. His research has been featured in leading maga- zines including Fate, the MUFON Journal and UFO Magazine, and in newspapers such as the LA Times, the LA Daily News, and the Dallas Morning News.
