Let us not forget that the Ummites claim to have made their first appearance in the 1950s, also to the Americans. The Soviets probably understood the importance of tele- pathic communication with ETs before the Americans did. I assume that the Ummites do exist and are in contact with the KGB. However, their letters are human creations as they are too academic in style and tainted by rhetoric in line with the ruling communism and technolog- ical state (Soviet science) of those days. The importance of such an operation is to let the CIA know that the KGB has its own ETs, and maybe their technology, and — more importantly — it has the ability to communicate with the public via letters conveyed in such a way that the true information is concealed behind presumed deliberate errors while hinting at the reality of this contact. The Ummites (I am certain that is not their real name) are ETs, but their letters are of human origin. I assume that the Soviets (currently the Russians) were and are far from knowing everything about their ET pen pals. That is also one of the objectives of these letters: to hear from those who also have contact and might know a little more about them.
