reflected something Masonic and when I think back it spooked me somewhat how they resembled the American Ku Klux Klan. If it wasn’t for the alien nature of their actual rituals, I might have even hazarded a guess as to what they may be. A process was taking place, this time involving the cylinders I had mysteriously harboured still in my inside pocket. I was asked to produce them by one of the beings. He was short like the other two and it struck me how they were nearly identical in size. The now hazy light caused their hoods to cast shadows over their faces making it impossible to see even an outline of a face. I just knew that whatever lurked under that hood was an extremely unappealing sight by human tastes and I have always suspected this to be the reason for their masked faces. I was asked to produce the battery objects from inside my pocket still wrapped in that plastic bag. I wasn’t even given a name for what they were and cannot remember a verbal instruction. His cloak would have made lip reading an impossibility so this only left the conclusion of telepathy, the technique I had engaged in hundreds of times before. I placed my hand to the bottom of the bag and brought out the five battery- like cylinders as requested. I noticed they were unusually warm as if coming out of a charger. As my fingers rubbed along their copper coating I noticed an odd tingle that wasn’t there before when handling them. It seemed that the closer I came to passing them over, the warmer and more electrified they became. The being who had asked me for the objects presented me with this flat board instrument that I seemed to know something about. That board, resembling a coat of arms was a type of ceremonial tool used for collecting the small cylinders. I do not know of the reason for this or why I even had these objects in the first place but understood it to be an essential part of the ritual. One by one I placed the cylinders into the available holes circling the perimeter of this board and felt the objects tingle increase as I did so. Just like a coat of arms, the board was oval shaped with the pronounced edges and also made of some dark wood that was plated with a metallic insignia. Whatever the device was, it seemed electrical. The cylinders slid perfectly into each hole in its formation leaving a kind of static on my fingers. Just slowly placing one in each hole seemed a closely scrutinised and significant task for the ceremony. Although the ritual was being observed by the three beings, I cannot say it involved anyone else in the hall. Similar events went on elsewhere that were a procedure like mine. This seemingly unique event was probably just an 69
