Activation My nose was cold and blocked with dry lips from breathing only through my mouth. This and the cold air against my face brought me nearer to the surface. I could also detect a pleasant morning sun and heard birds singing. Wherever I was or whatever had happened, I was fully clothed and in a particularly uncomfortable position. The occurrences of last night had left me lying crouched here on the grass, sheltering from chill, and by morning I would be astonished as to how I actually slept this way.
