outcome proved fascinating. I lay down and could still see it there out from the corner of my eye. If I were to tilt my head slightly it would just move accordingly. It reminded me of the games I used to play as a child where I would just lay on my garden lawn and stare up into the blue sky watching thousands of transparent molecules darting around wildly--the cells of my eyeball. I would focus on one and watch it move in accordance with my own eye movement. That’s what it was like watching this thing. I have come to suspect that an advanced race of beings perhaps use a type of remote spying device that is so sharp it can monitor you while staying outside of your line of vision. Now that it was getting darker, I noticed another ingenious facet of this monitor. The device got lighter as the night become darker. I was now seeing a more pronounced image of the device from my peripheral vision as it began to shine. I could now see that there were more than one and they had all been around me like hovering blind spots. I would have estimated there were about seven, spheres no bigger than a golf ball. I could never see this many during the day and couldn’t get over how quickly they moved. The nearest thing I could equate them to were the stars sometimes seen after receiving a knock. I was quite literally seeing stars, golden flashes whizzing around just outside my vision as if I had suddenly been hit. What did any of this mean? I stood back up and began walking. The flashes were not so apparent. I felt uncomfortable at the bright appearance of these things and their sudden number. Still noticing them slightly from the corner of my eye, I walked around and observed what was around me. Night had fallen quickly with the sky becoming that inky blue giving way to occasional patches of light blue. It was deathly silent with hardly any wind to be heard even through the collection of dried leaves. It didn’t feel natural tonight and I still harboured that feeling of being watched. Now that it was dark, the balls of light were accompanied by their reflections on the floor, which were quick and hard to follow. It seemed as if I was being followed by fireflies which couldn’t be properly seen. Without any direction and hardly any night vision, I paced around in circles. I could just make out the outline of trees and bushes in the distance. There was something else in the corner of my eye that appeared much slower than the fireflies and to my amazement didn’t divert when my eyes turned to meet it. What I saw was a dimly lit crescent shape in the distance just shimmering there in the sky. 42
