This deification was acceptable until the scientific age began. Then it should have been removed completely. This would have been possible had the truth been preserved, or if people had been able to read between the lines. In scientifically developed countries, people are already consumed by a kind of moroseness because they have nothing left to believe in. Nobody can believe in a “Heavenly God” any longer, perched upon a cloud with a white beard, omniscient and omnipotent, which is what the Church wants us to do.
