Or do these aliens merely wish to enrich their own [genetic] stock and then depart as mysteriously as they arrived, having achieved their goal and revivified their own endangered species? Or is there yet some other goal which we have not even imagined, something unknowable at this point in our intellectual evolution?"'* "One of the purposes for which UFOs travel to Earth is to abduct humans to help aliens produce other beings. It is not a program of reproduction but one of production. They are not here to help us, they have their own agenda and we are not allowed to know its full parameters.” "Everything I have learned in 20 years of research into the UFO abductions phenomenon leads me to conclude that the aliens' central purpose is not to teach us about taking better care of the environment; instead, all of the evidence points to their being here to carry out a complex breeding experiment in which they seem to be working to create hybrid species, a mix of human and alien characteristics. A careful reading of the various woud 7 witnesses accounts suggests that here, as in many earlier cases, reproductive issues appear far more frequently than alien ecological concerns."" Some might argue that Hopkins and Jacobs are unqualified from a scientific point of view to make claims about hybridization, genetic engineering, and the production of hybrid half-alien, half-human species. However, this cannot be said of Dr. John Mack. Mack, a psychiatrist for more than 40 years, has extensive training in the biological, medical, and psychiatric sciences. Academically his credentials are unparalleled in the field of UFO and abduction research. Remarkably, Mack came to similar conclusions. After examining 76 cases of alleged UFO abductions, Mack drew the following conclusions. First, he believes that some-thing definitely happened to the individuals he examined. They did not make up the stories. Secondly, Mack believes that the beings that are abducting humans are interdimensional beings. Based the descriptions of his patients, he believes that the abductions even may occur outside of time and space itself; that is, he believes that it may be some sort of interdimensional transportation to a domain outside of the space-time. Thirdly, Mack believes that one of the primary agendas of the alien entities is to warn mankind of impending ecological catastrophe which has been precipitated by our misuse of resources and destruction of the ecosystem. He noted that the majority of abductees are given these apocalyptic visions of the future catastrophic Earth changes. He also noted that people often take tremendous religious and prophetic significance from these experiences. While making no assessments about the origin of these entities, he concluded that their nature parallels those of angels, demons, and other supernatural entities. Mack believes that the alien abduction phenomenon may represent the first verification that the dualistic 72 At the end of his book Secret Life, David Jacobs asked the question, "Why are UFOs here?" His answer is disturbing: In his most recent book, Witnessed, Hopkins stated:
