"Now the giants [Nephilim], who have been born of spirit and of flesh, shall be called upon earth evil spirits, and on earth shall be their habitation. Evil spirits shall proceed from their flesh, because they were created from above; from the holy Watchers was their beginning and primary foundation. Evil spirits shall they be upon earth, and the spirits of the wicked shall they be called. The habitation of the spirits of heaven shall be in heaven; but upon earth shall be the habitation of terrestrial spirits, who are born on earth. The spirits of the giants shall be like clouds, which shall oppress, corrupt, fall, contend, and bruise those upon earth." In this remarkable text we learn that evil spirits (a common Biblical synonym for demons) appear to proceed from the flesh of the Nephilim. This was, of course, understood to happen after the Nephilim died. Secondly, these evil spirits will "oppress, corrupt, fall, contend, and bruise those upon earth." Another ancient historical document widely recognized by ancient rabbis and Early Church fathers is the Book of Jubilees. In the Book of Jubilees, chapter 10, verses 1-5, we find further confirmation that demons are disembodied spirits of the Nephilim. "And in the third week of this jubilee the evil demons began to lead astray the sons of Noah and deceived them and destroyed them. And the sons came to Noah their father and told him concernirng the demons which were leading astray, darkening, and slaying the sons of their sons. And he prayed before the Lord his God and he said; ‘Lord of the spirits of all flesh thou hast shown mercy to me and hast delivered me and my children from the waters of the deluge, and hast not suffered me to be destroyed as thou didst the children of destruction [the Nephilim], for thy grace was great over men, and great was thy mercy over my soul; may thy grace be exalted over the sons of thy sons, and may the evil spirits [spirits of Nephilim implied here] not rule over them to destroy the earth. And thou hast verily blessed me and my sons that we increase and multiply and fill the earth. And thou knowest how the Watchmen [an idiom for the Watchers] , the father of these spirits, acted in my day; and these spirits also which are alive, cast them into prison and hold them in the places of judgment. " (Jubilees 10:1-5). These events are after the flood of Noah. In the Bible we never read of demons prior to the flood, nor do we find mention of them in any of the ancient historical texts. In summary, the fathers of the Nephilim are the Watchers, a specific group of angels (of the "Sons of God") who lusted after the daughters of men and took them as wives (Genesis 6:1-5). After the Nephilim died, it seems they became demons who led astray, harassed, oppressed, corrupted, contended with, and bruised those upon earth. The relevance of this understanding to our 20th-century alien visitors will become evident as we progress. 143 in chapter 15 of the Book of Enoch: THE ANOINTED CHERUB
