9:25). The city of Jerusalem, at the time, was in ruins, but destined to be rebuilt. Thus, Gabriel gave Daniel a mathematical prophecy: These 173,880 days would occur between the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem until the presentation of the Meshiach Nagiid. The trigger, the authority to rebuild the city of Jerusalem, was the decree of Artaxerxes Longimanus, given on March 14, 445 B.C. The target to complete the 69 weeks was the presentation of the Meshiach Nagid, the Messiah the King.*’* But when was Jesus ever presented as a king? On several occasions in the New Testament, when they attempted to make Jesus a king, he invariably declined, "Mine hour is not yet come."””? Then one day, he not only permitted it, he arranged it.300 Jesus deliberately arranged to fulfill Zechariah 9:9, "Rejoice greatly, 0 daughter of Zion; shout, 0 daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. This was the only day he allowed them to proclaim him King. You and I might not recognize the scriptural significance of what is known as the "Triumphal Entry" in a casual reading. However, whenever there is a danger of us missing a subtlety, the Pharisees come to our rescue! "I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out" (Luke 19:40). This was the 10th of Nisan, or April 6, A.D. 32° When you convert the Hebrew text into the terms of our calendar, we discover that there were exactly 173,880 days between the decree of Artaxerxes and the presentation of the "Messiah the King" to Israel! Gabriel's prophecy given to Daniel five centuries before—and translated into Greek three centuries before the fact—was fulfilled to the exact day! This precise anticipation of such historical details is one of the most dramatic demonstrations of the hyperdimensionality of Jesus Christ, the Messiah of Israel. Incredible! (This will be explored further in chapter 14.) What is also shocking is that Jesus held them accountable to recognize this day. He went on to predict that Jerusalem would be destroyed because the people didn't recognize this day that Daniel had specifically predicted: "If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. 136 (7 + 62) times 7 times 360 = 173,880 days THE TRIUMPHAL ENTRY The enthusiastic disciples were declaring Jesus as the Messiah with Psalm 118. When the Pharisees expressed their concern over the apparent blasphemy, Jesus declared:
