checked the skies for its return: it has not.
I am a junior at the Louisiana Polytechnic Institute, on
who's dormitory I saw the object. I am majoring in chem-
istry, but astronomy and astronautics are two of mv hob-
bies. I have been using riy telescope for over ten years,
so I know that that object was not a double image nor out
of focus or sonething (besides, seeing the two brighter
lights in my binoculars verifies that there was at least
two lights). Also it could not have been a double star,
because my telescope can not magnify a star that much
unless the star ves imoossibly close. I It could not have
been the bright oianats Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, or
havevthere on the nights afterward. You could say that
it was ao airplane and byflying straight towards me, I
would be unable to see any wings. But I would have (and
I did not) see the predominant red
wing lights. Comets, meteors, fire-balls, swamp gas,
electrified ammonie gas, balls of stotic electricity,
spots before my eyes, flying horny-toads, and what ever
else the anti-sauser groups can think uo do not look
anything like my object. Meteors, fire-balls, etc, do
not lost ; for 10-l5 min., nor do thoy I stanl still end let
the earth roll by like it ,d1d. I 9m vary sure it vas not

of its brightness, nor, for the same reason, do I thin'k
it was light reflecting ofe a small cloud. Weathar bal-
loons are enerally shaped ellipse shaped

Now, can you tell me whet it was or could logically have
been? If you have no explanation of the UFo, a letter
advising me of this will as well be accepted.
