h. Neteorological Activity:
Meteor activity in the area of the sighting was probably
increased above noral, according
NASA Research Center, telephone 703-722-7961, Extension 2200. The
Leonoid Neteor Shower was 17 Novenber 1966 from 0500 Zulu to 0830 Zulu.
Mr. stated that Mr signting sounded like a Bollide
Meteor, commonly called "fire balls." This type meteor will appear to
travel nore horizontally and can be viewed longer than otier neteors.
The nignt of the sighting was especi lear and doserving
a Bollide Meteor.
Air Traffic:
Higi perfornance, single-engine jet traffic is very dense in
the Langley Air Forc Oceana Naval Air Station and Norfolk Naval
703-764-4359, home 703-826-2119. The facts in this report were gathered
in a personal interview witn Mr. r and M an 1 December
196s. The attached letter, written by Mr is referred to in
this report. Mr stated that ne is interested in articles about
UrO's and therefore easily found the names of Dr. Condon and Dr. Hynek.
His interest in UFO's was also revealed by newspaper articles displayed
on the walls of his laboratory. Mr. Lawler stated that what ne saw

blue-green to yellow-green. Sparks appearing to come
from sides and rear of object. Object left no
apparent trail ("vapor" or otherwiseafter it had
passes. No sound heard above the noise of the car
motor. No sound of its hitting earth. Travelling
at high rate of speed. Seemed to be large.
