l. Reference the attached unidentified flying object report from
Robert Lynn, Associate Member National Investigations Committee on
Aerial Phenomena. Contact was made with Dr. Charles Olivier, of
the American Meteor Society regarding the obser ation of Mrs.
The following is extracted frcm Dr. Olivier's letter.
"The object reported from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, by two people
is absolutely a bright meteor or fireball; there is no question as
its identity- The date was night of July /7 2:32 a. m.
I wish most cases were as easy to decide on! The reports will
be placed in our fireball card file."

Twenty-firet aveme SW, didn't put much stock in Unidertified Flying Objects
(UFO) storiee. Not until 2:32 a.m. Monday, that is. At that time, Mrs. Car-
roll's sleep was disrupted by a noise. Looking outside, she discovered that
the wind waws rustling oushes adjacent to the house. Looking skyward, however,
Mrs. Carrell was amazed. She told. the Gasetta Monday that she Bay a brilli-
antly colored objeot appear to the right a and angling toward the
ground. "he colors were magniflcent. It jus eautiful," sh. rolated.
At first glance, Mrs. Limpression of the object was that it was a

over Nebraska. They were most helpful.
The attached report of an observation on 7 July 1966 over
Iowa appears to be quite Cedar Rapids,
teresting. We would appreciate your comments

Your assistance on various sightings over the paat year has proven to
be quite valuable. We scon n hope
