l. The following information is presented as directed by AFR 200-2,
paragraph 14.
a. Description of object:
(1) Shape: Slightly pear-shaped.
(2) Size: Baseball. 2) Size: Baseball.

elevation of 35° to 45 (observer was facing NE).

it seemed to stop and ho small, brilliant light appeared to
leave the bottom of the larger object and descend into the water, where
it was no longer visible. The larger object then appeared to descend
and hover over the spot where e smaller object had entered the water.
It then climbed straight up approximately the position of the first
hover and hovered once more. .
(5) Upon completion of the second hover, the object started
climbing at approximately a 6o angle. Acceleration seemed slow at
first, but rapidly increased until the object disappeared from view.

stated that no planets were visible in the area of the sighting on
18 April 1966.

j. A thorough check of Naval, Air Force, NASA and FAA installations -
in the area failed to indicate any ain which would
account for the sighting.
k. This i report was prepared by Captain James R. Lewis, Jr., USAF,
4500 Air Base Wing Operations Division, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia.
After exhausting every possible avenue of investigation open to me, I
am unable to substantiate nor disprove the validity of this sighting.
