TO Prof. J. Allen Hynek, FROM Dr. E. H. T. Whitten
Chairman
DEPT. Astronomy Geology
A Dea
The specimen is certainly not an UFO.
Clearly it is metamorphic rock. In fact it is
a piece of metamorphosed quartzite Having come
from the general region of f Aberdeen, Maryland,
it could well be of relatively local origin
because there is a wide assortment of metamor-
phosed sedimentary rocks to the west and northwest
of that town.
It was somewhat surprising to find such
I would strongly suggest that the Air Force be
encouraged to get informants to provide accurate
information about the precise location of "finds."
