The description, duration, direction of flight are
traveling northeast of New York at 7:28 p.m. Eastern Standard
Time. If the time of your observation was Eastern Daylight
Time, the object you observed wasI Echo II. If the time was
not Eastern Daylight Time, then you probably observed one of.
the other 30 )satellites or satellite components hich are

Reference the attached letter from requesting
information on his observation of 4 Sep The description,
duration and direction of flight are in accord with a satellite
observation. Echo II was traveling northeast at 728pm EST over
New York on 4 Sep. If the time given in his letter was actually
EDT then he observed the satellite Echo II. If this is not the
case then he probably observed of the other thirty satellites
and satellite components in orbit which are visible to the naked
eye.
