1. In compliance with paragraph 14, AFR 200-2, the following data is
submitted:

(1) Airman Bolding: Attention was called to the object by the
movement the object and he in turn pointed it out to Airman McBrayer.
(2) The object was south of the airmen when first observed and

clouds covering 4/8 of the sky. Visibility greater than l5 miles. Surface
winds, 300° at 02 knots. An upper trough located between Whiteman AFB, Mo.
and Columbia, Mo. No weather associated with the trough.

(1) The preparing officer has no comnents or conjecture as to
what may have been the source of the light these two airmen saw. Apparently
they were the only two individuals to observe the light. A weather observer
at his station near the runway did not see it nor any of the control tower
personnel. Nothing unusual was observed on the FAA Kansas City radar.
Airman Bolding stated that he has seen similar objects before at Whiteman
AFB and that other personnel had seen them as well. Apparently no report
was made in these instances.
