Reference the attached unidentified flying object report from
the Christianson family. The ob,ject which they observed on
the night of 1l August l965 has been evaluated as the star Capella.
This star was in the northeast at the time of their observation;
the position which they gave for the unidentified object. The /
colors reported are those associated with this astronomical object.

ADDITIONAL REMARKS BY OBSERVER: Also observed wife,
age 37 and neice, age l6.
COMENT: appeared to be calm about this. He was looking at
the "Swift's" comet at the time. He definitely felt he saw something unusual.
Althought to this reporter the coloration of flashing red, green, white gives
the impression this could have been an aircraft, the duration of this sighting
seams to discount this. The observer did not appear to be hesitant of what

mately 20 degrees east and 30 degrees up. At the final viewing, 2
when we decided to o to bed, it was located what I

any shape; and at a distance almost comparable to a star, ex-

white flashing lights.
