BRIEF SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS

Odject observed from car on Moliywood freeway. Car heading Wee
am object about lll O'Clock'position, Bearing shifted to 9
O'Clock position as car left the freeway, Object had orange
exber colar. Compared size to football at arm's length. Slue
object about the size of baseball at arm's length was cbserved
near the orange object, As the orange object disappeared it

went straight up changing to reddish white wlar. No knowledge _.
of how the blue object disappeared. Night was clear ard witnesses
were emphatic that the cbject was NOT the moon, -

Time 2.50, 10 August, MOON at 20,22 RA (D deg elevation, 140
degrees azimzth). VHVUS at 11.19 RA, below the horizon. MARS
at 13,26 RA on horizon near the star ” SPICA. MARS in the proc

My ond is BBD Lett their residence in the Sliver Lake distric
of Hollywood and entered toe Hollywood freeway west bound at the
Vermont Avenue On-ramp. When on the freeway, they noticed the UFO
aS an undetermined distance at about 11:00 o'clock nosition relative
tc the automobile. They observed the UFO for o rexiod of etout 19
minutes while traveling on the freeway until they cot aporoxtimtely
to the Barham Avenue off-rano (in the middle of Cahvenga Pass}.
Except Por one gulck ang lateral movement, tre UP) coveared to he
wotioniess during the time of observation. At the end of the 10
minute period the relative bearing of the UFO had slowly coved such
thet lt was about the 9:00 o'clock vosition relative to the car when
last seen. (COMMENT: After affecting some elementary trianculation,
it would appear that the suspected UFO would Lave been located over
the general area of UCLA and Sei Aire in the West Los Anuelzes area,
an average distance of avont 12 miles from the Hollirmod Freewny. )
