Reference the attached letter from Mrs Fegarding an
observation by her daughter in April 1965 llowingis a
suggested reply:

Reference your letter of 27 Apr 65 regarding an observation
by your daughter. The Air Force regards all reports as sincere.
The Air Force has been engaged in investigating many reports of
this nature for eighteen years and at present have on file more at present have on file more
than 9,o0 objects or phenomena which the observer cauld not identi- than 9,00 objects 0 phenomen hich the observer cauld not identi-
fy. Only a very small has been determined to be hoaxes,
unreliable reports, hallucinations, etc. The attached brochure
indieates the results r Force project on this phenomena
to date.
Since the information, regarding your daughters observation,
was insufficient for an evaluation, it is requested that the
attached FTD Form l64 be filled out by her and returned in the
envelope provided. We assure you that her name will be held in
confidence and in no:way will she be subject to ridicule or regarded
as a "kook".
