The reported near-collson between a UFO and an airliner,
mentioned in the lost issue. is still beang investigated. For
reasons we cannot disclose now, the full detatls and concluston
will have to he delaved. Meantime, here are the main points
reported to NiC. P.
The sighting oceurred at dusk, Jan. 3, 19s5, as a four-engine
Electra, Operat-d by a major airline, was approaching a large
Eastern cty. The captain was a veteran with 25 years military
and airline esper ce. In the cockpat with ham were the First
Officer (ro-piot the Flght Engineer.
Several miles fr m the airport, both pitots sighted what they
first thouzht w ordinary aireraft. Suddenly it turned, came
awiftly toward the Electra-a huge, delta-shaped machine, show-
ing a black sill uette in the dusk. As the captain's report in-
dieates, the ahr: , head-on approach gave the crew a bad scare.

of an encounter about the time of the lamous visual-radar ceports

The Amateur Radio Magazine of March mention of a recent
report of a total of 12 speedy discs flying 1983 carried a short
over Washington, D. C. It seemed one the first
worker in an office spotted dises and alerted five fellow workers.
They alt stoed and watched the first six

dozen more. The writer went on to 'say that when
the observecs notified a Washington

January 1965. The patrol, GPh John F. Davis and Pyt Robert T. Warstler,
firgt observed the cbject while moving fram Northeast to Southvest along
Sanitery Fill Road. They confimmed the observation at the road junotion
(Esgili973) and reported tha sighting.
The sighting oes confirmed by Ma,or J. S. Oliver, Provost Marshal
Operations Officer. Me or Oliver stated thst the obiect wos approximately
S0 feet in diameter end illuninated with a yellowish-t ite glow similar
to e firefly.
3. The ob,ect was first sighted at tree top level. It ascended
to approximately 3oo feet and circled several Eiines in a distinct pattern.
The ob'ect again ascended in a spiral until it was out of sight. The
ohiject was obseryedfor. inutes, at a magnetic azinuth of 37 degrees
from coordinates Fsgllio73 and et a range of 1,500 to ?,Oo0 meters. The
orbit of the object was 37 to 55 degrees (magnetic compass reading) in orbit of the ob,ect was 37 to 55 degreec (megnetic compass reading) in
a clockwise direction. It disappeared at a heistht. So degrees from the a clockwise direction. It disappeored at a heitht. So degrees from the
horirontal.
