this is the purpose letter.
My friend and I have just completed a knapsack
trip tos some of the remote lakes and streams of the Yosemite wilder-
ness area in Northern California. Cn Saturday, August 15 we were
camped on southeast side of Benson Lake, 8:15 a.m. that
day we itting by the edge of the lake, which was very calm
and quie heard a brief sound rushing air. ke
were both for the branches of the trees did not move.
"hen we again hear nd a few seconds later, we both looked
up and I saw three objects moving from east to west at an incredible
speed--so fast that before my friend could locate them, they had
disappeared behind a cloud in the west.
The sound which we both heard was that of air friction only,
certainly not of jet propulsion also assume that the
altitude of the objects above us could not have been great because
the objects e still visible when the sound reached us. I
estimate the distance between the objects to have been about two
or three diameters. - −
