Dear Sirs,
We are living iu St. iilen Switzerland ana have observed cn Tuesday
l3t Auzust so akind of a missile or satelite Tlyiug nt @ Hieht of
approx. LS'ooo to Js'ooo feet. it was glowing and looked like a small
fireball. Speed and hight have been constantly same and we wondered
wat this could bea. The next evenings, Wednesday l4th Ausust we waited
uid at exactly the same time as the evening bevore this glowing ball
raised again exactly at tne same point over the mountains and flew
Weta rxactly the same speed but siightly lower in the same dLrection.
fhe sky was slightly clouded but this flying object did not disappear
benind the clouds. Wwe estimated the ilyins hight at approx, 7'S00 to
lotooo feet. After about 4+ minutes it suddenly stoped glowing and we
thouzht that it disappeared behind a cloudbank first, but after ob-
oe my exactly with dinoculars we would see a dark looking flying
Object and after about one minute we could see tne glow again, Aiter
about 30 seconds then this small siow turned into a tairlv big ftire-
ball about 5 times as bis as bdetore. Glew for some seconds and suddenly
fall apiece so tnat it Looked as firework on festivals. The explosion
took place at approx. 20.04 and we estimated that the glowing parts have
tail to earth in the area of Toggenburg (western part, county St. Gall).
fhis tlving object aid not appear in the sky on Thursday and we woider
wiether vou have some knowledge of a low flying satelite, In case that
you can give us some intormation we would thank you in advance because
there is already some silly talk about flying sources in our newspapers.
