This case was reported in March-April 1966. Since the actual
sighting had occurred some time ago it is almost impossible
to check it out. Also due to the time lag the pertinent

pear Sir:
I have been reading articies in various newspapers concerning your interest in
having an investigation by a Committee of the Congress tu probe the UFO sightings
in Michigan and otaer parts of the natione
Both my husband and mysalf had occasion, four years ago, of witnessing the sane
flying pheacmenae Because it was so identical to the sightings we rend of a lrse
Baumgart, of Sarrington iiills, Ille, and a Mr. Richard horer or Yorer (Policenan)
cf Carpentersville, Ille, we tlought we should advise you of what we sawe The follow=
ing is a true account:
Four years ago, my husband and I were on a fishing vacation at Ox Bow Lake, near Presque
Isle, Wisconcén, on the lijchigen-Wisconsin vorder, in the heart of the Northern Highland
Svate vorast. Ag you know, this area is densely wooded, few cottages, an extromely
‘large lake, shaped like an Ox's bow, with 14 islavds in it. ‘We were fishing off the
Per, above 10:30 Pelies 1% was completely dark, but the sky vas very clear, which was
ideal, for wat ve vere about to witnesse
I was locking straight out over the expanse of water and sky, when suddenly appearing
froma the Scutheast, Mam aud hesting Northvest, waa 1 very Sright and sarge sparkling
avtraction, hesced on e a3trai.i.t very speedy course. It was nidewsy between the horizon
end whet we would c2il straight up, and according to our thinking, it vas one or tao
city dlocks disten®t frow use As 3s00n as I saw 1%, i called to ny husb.nd, who locked up
sad sow it dimedisiely. it stayed on a straisht paraliel course, parailiel -ith the sure
face of tne water, uevaer dipping or fallinge Ye 09th watched 14 ‘or saverel sesonda,
and ther sucdenly all was dark; it was dark in a finsh; out dia not wsde out of our
sisht bec-ise of any distances. It was just as large end Sriyht at the end when 1%

This bright flaming phenomena yas very clearecut in «pearance and outline, ss shored
like a football or sunfish, was very goodesizede It wae shiney >cri-ht, and gaseous
phosphorexeent in eppearance, a deautiful blue and green, tinge of yellow, end whites
tionede as we did not see an object, ve feel it could have very well been the exhaust
from a possibie vehicie ahead of ite It is hard to come to a conclusion as to the size
of this bright flame=like thing we saw, however, at the distance it appeared to be from
us, as the crew flies, It could have been 30x40 fte in sizes
™a do not believe under any circumstances that we saw a nsivral phenomencn, or a meteor,
or suchy or that it could have been any Reflections of eny sort. ‘his was on a very
wedl-controlled course, straight, and hed all the aspects of a controlled Blying objacte
We ave bean convinced this was an Unidientified Fiying Objects
We would acoprsciate your acknowledging this latter and informetion sent j cue wey

which never would have reached the news Wires, had I not made
Sure they were relayed to proper news sources, These two reports
“were only two of many that I personally received and investigated,
There still remained many persons who fearéa-to-tell of their ~~
UFO observations, because or military censorship orders or ‘open
ridicule’,
Sort? These two reports concerned the sighting of three discos that
maneuvered over Woonsocket, Rhode Island and were sighted by
bir. CUR Vice President of Fairmont Dye Works, along
with e@ group of other eyewitnesses on January 3, 1962.
