Secondly it is notod that the object aoared avoroxiantely dne onst
of the observer. The city of Aibany is about i5 iles in ttin direction
although not directly visible fro: this nountainous location. The li gts
of the city docowpanied by a certain attosphoric conditions ray ot the sight-
ing in the class of an optical illusion.
The move onts described would sees to elininte the vieible planots
(Jupiter and Saturn) and the moteor shower (Perseids) fron considerauion.
However, Jupiter is at about the elevati n and axlnth describod and is a
vorg oroni nent ouject in the sky.
In concluslon, the lack of soientific nettod in tne observanions and
the nuestionable reliability of the obsarver makes an accurate hyothones
diffieult. iy opinion would be that the view of Jupiter accommanied by
poscible noonlit vapor trails and inagination brought about tiis reportod
obsorvation. It could be suggested that the two othor witnessos, having
roturned to Long Island, be intervieved in an attennt at olarification.
L. Physical evidence to support the observation does not exist.
