Bob:
Can you provide some information én which
to base a reply to this?
Missile schedule revealed no shots on this
night (Dec 14th).
You might take a look at the interceptor (F-106)
path out of Dover,AFB (Del). They move in
the pirection of Long Island and then proceed
out to sea on an intercept....uswmally with
AB on all the way. Sometimes there a boom

folaéowed by engine racket...etc.

SUBJ SCT Report of Unknown Object over Amityville L

TO : Major Hamnond, UJSAF
FRO! EE NIN Raa Ea:

1. About 9:30 PM Friday, December 15th, 1961, the three following named boys
apoeared st my Hq., reporting sighting of unknown object over Amityville, and also

prepered the enclosed map:-
(2) ,aipvile ai
(bd) , “iteville, <a

(c)

2. They reported thet at about 10:45 pM the nicht of Thursday, December 14th,
1961, the three boys were ricing in a car at the Amityville Muinicipsl Bathing Beach
rea, just having come from a DeMolny Meeting in Amityville, vhen Wg noticed
arge light in the sky, just beyond a large building, formerly the Herald Tribune
Presi Air Fund Camp, just to the west of the Bathing Beach on the waterfront.

3. Following herewith find report submitbed by Qaiigpmiesr

" d I couldn't explein it either, so we turned nround and went to Point
(on the map) to observe it ocetter. The™lisght" just hovered in the air over the Say.

At point C, it travelled at an enormous rate of speed. By the time we
reazched Point 0 - it trevelled from X to Y in a metter of only se few seconds.

We ran from E to E. Here, Object stopoed and hovered at Y. We were at
B (=) and heard a sound that would send chills up and cown your back.

Object turned now end we saw a perfectly shaped object (strange sound,
iniler to a hich whine ene 2 low whine, mounting in crescendo, in unison) with bright
rs eppeared at it's sices. As it entered the clouds, it turned extremely bright,
scugh to lignt up the entire cloud eres around it. Within a split second, the tring
s> ppeared heading south. Strange sounds continued sufter object disappeared.

-

cund stopped a short time l-ter. ®

4. Investigation of these boys by my office, revealed they are all highly
Lligest young men, attending Amityville High School. They hve never before deen
ived in any prank in the Villege. They are all of hign class caliber, of good
bene coming from fine perents. They first reported tnais incident to their
sigh School Teacher, Mr. Ben Kurland, and he referred them to my office. [ have no
reason to disbelkve their story, 1s they aren't the type to make things up.

5. When they reported to Ha on December 15th, 1961, they were ecuipped with »
era end a pair of binoculars, and were dressed in warm clothing. They stated they
> ge itended to stake out the area again,
