III. SUMMARY:
On 12 August l96l the preparing officer visited the residence of
Nr. Suffolk, Va, to further investigate the
alleged sighting of Unidentified Flying Objects. Mrs Corl stated that the
objects appeared to be like a two bladed propellor (See Incl i), however the
ends seemed to movs up and down like the wings of a bird. Mrs stated
that she could not see any body. However, Mr said that the body and
wings were visible to him (See Incl 2). Both agreed that the size approx-
imated that of a small watermelon, about a foot across when held at arms
length, only flat. Both agreed that the color was similar to that of a
fire-fly or like the moon when it first rises. Mr said that he counted
five objects and Mrs agreed that there were at least five and possibly
more. There were jo more. There were jo exhausts, sound or trails, however the wings appeared to exhausts, sound or trails, however the wings appeared to
be wavering some.
Mrs statad that her nephew Mr East Orangs,
New Jersey, and his wife were preparing to leave when they developed car
troubls. While standing by the ated she looked to the
North and noticed thess objects appearing in ormation, and brought the
matter to the attantion of her husband. As they watched, the objects went
into trail formation and circled in a clockwise manner. After thres or four
revolutions and about two or three minutes later, the objects disappeared to
the North-east. Asimuth while circling was 360 degrees with an elevation of
75 degross, finally disappearing to the North-east at an elevation of
approximately 15 degrees.
Other witnesses included an eight year old girl and her mother, Mrs
, Suffolk Va, Mrs n stated that her
daughter came in the house and told her about the objects, however, she was
only able to observe the objects as they were disappearing.
