1. The inclosed is a UrO'report from Lt Colonel Ralph E. Keyes. The
report does not give the exact time of the sighting, however, telephone
conversation between this office and the individual, SP4 eemLlxs Ccandtt divieuar, Sr4 Scndeike, Schuelke,
reported the sighting as of 3 January l96l.

i. The following is the report of 50 UFe submitted to the 17AF
Air Lieison
Shape of top unit was rectengular and reflocted a ,bright orange
shaped object beneath it far onough to plairly discerm the separation.
Faint high pitched whistle heard before object reached the Zenith and
then died out after passage. Size not knowm as estimate of altitude
constantly moved through
objeots reached 45° past Zenith toward North East, bright orange flanes
seemed to exolode fro on the fire ball causing ti e rectanglar object
to catch fire starting at tips working inwards towerd center. Pire
wes more red than fire ball flames. As the burning progreused the
ball and reotangle started to separate rapidly. The hall disaopeared
from view going lower at about 3o above the horizon while the rect-
angle was still visable burning and breaking inte many flaming pieces.
Estimate that the whole sighting took place within three ninutes.
Cbject was observed fron the ground unaided by optieal eids. Time
