Round objeet. Satellite 9 Zeta II reentered on this date,
bright white, glowing,small tail, reddish- but where or the time of reentry is un-
white. Witness S2--size of quarter, orange known. Short duration and short flight
(flame colored), tail twice as long as object path which was fairly level is more in-
and sane color. Sighted at 15° elevation; 140 dicative of a meteor, which was probably
azimuth. Disappeared at lo elevation; 135 what was seen. During this time of year
azimuth. Slight are. Faded out. the earth is passing throngh several
meteor showers. The object observed by
the two witnesses was probably a meteor.

A3C Carpenter V Is the duty observer
in tho weather observatory tower atop the Base Cperations building at Randolph
AFB. A2c liattison, as Senior Cbserver on duty, was tenporerily in the towor
overseeing the performance of A3c Carpenter.
Airman Carpenter was seated facing SSE. Aiman Mattison was seated facing
Airman Carpenter in a generally northward direction.
