Report originated from Moorhead, Ky, State Police who reported it to
Hunting lio who in turn reported it to Indianapolis ARTC.

He saw the object at 0230 EST on that date.

was described as being like llght given a radium dial on a watah or clock.
Cgden watched the object from )seconds to one minute, when suddenly a blaze of deep
blue fire resembling a gas flane was expelled out of the bottom of the object. The
object rose perpendicular to the ground at a tremendous speed to a height of 4oo to 500
feet. The flawe went out and the object traveled horizontally to the ground in an
easterly direction and out of sight. (F-6)
2. On 14 September 1959. an investigation was conducted by Region V, logth
CIC Group personnel acuroximate scene of the reported incident. A ring WAS
burned in the ground approximately S inches wide around a circumference of approxi-
mataly l2 feet 3 inches. Dimensions estimated by the Kentucky State Police in two
directions across the cirele ware l2 feet 3 inches, and l2 feet 4 inches. The circle 13
wasi burned on an approximate egree slope, forming an almost perfect circle.
The ground was a hard, whita soil. No foreign objects were found in the area which was
estimated to have been traversed bry approximately l5o people cn l3 and l4 Septamber.
The ground in the burnsd-out area saelled of a fuel product similar to kerosene, Since
the object was seen, there had been a rainfall in the area on 9 September l959
estimated at trom approximately .3 to .5 inches.
