August 4, 1958
Gentlemen:
I do not know to whom to ed'ress this letter, but I
merely wish to report whet seems to be an unusual
phenomenon.
Lest night, August 3, my husb:nd and I were driving
south on the New York Stete Thruwey in an open car.
We hed just passed the ges.station south of exit 20
(Saugerties). It wes betzeen 9.05 and 9.10 p.m.
Suddenly from the east ceme something with a large gr-
een light, moving very rapidly. The light came on
with e@ reguler rhythme- I would estimate at about a
second. It took only 4 lirhts to get across the
sky to the west. The light wes about as lerge as
& green traffic light. I know thet I was not the only
one who saw it, because aimost immedietely efter it
passed out of my vision, searchlights from some
plece in the west begen to rake the skies.
It was not the lights of « lending plane, and I do
not believe it could heve been a jet plene flying
low, for I think thet woulc heve been heard.
I do not know what it was. All I kmow is that I
have never seen enything like it, and wished to
report it for my description might tie in with a
report of it from another erea.
