I have long been trying to learn the outcome of Air Force in-
vestigations of two UFO sighting in the Chicago area. After unsuccessful
attampts to learn the results by viiting to Air Force Headquarters, I
sent a 1tter on Sept. 9, 196o to Office of Information Se: icago.
On 22 Sep 60, I received a letter signed by Major Philip Salk,
who said that my letter had been "forwarded for necessary action". On
26 Sep 60, a letter from Lt. Col. Tacker stated that he had received the
letter and was "checking the matter with the Fighter-Interceptor Squad-
to you." I have not heard a word since then.

gas station attendant at Des Plaines, Ill., observed a red fireball for a few moments over

of two sightings of unidentified flying objects in this area.

ported to the Air Forc at ATIC. Since the sightings were reported
to officials at O'Har AFB, an identification must re been made
.by these officials, thereby ending the necessity of rwarding the
