tower sighted obisct but that according to JAX the IPA tower

later denied sighting such object.

1. Dete of occurence was Sunday evening,3:45 to 9:00 P.M,,%.S.T.,

March 2; 1958, not March BP

2. Meteorological factors and pilot reports indicated severe, possibly
extreme trubulence over Tampa and vicinity. Turbulence in varying
degres- ucderate to “heavy”, according to pilot's reports, occured
throughout the afternoon and evening om March Ze
The stability index, on the Tampa OCOOZ, March 3, R/S observation
vas minus 3. This R/S wa, released approximately 2 hours before
the odjectcwas reported, ——
