The following report of unidentified flying object was received by this
headquarters from the individuals named below and reported in accordance with
AFR 200=23

as being 4 to 10 times the size of Yenus, wiich would correspond roughly with
the size of a pea.

bright licht similar to a Yanding light. It was not synetrical in shape and

The angle of elevati 20° and azimuth unknown. However, the sighting was
toward thecsouthwest fron the ppint of observation.

object remained stationary and in view the entire period while it was observed.

received until three days after the sighting.
(10) The witness reported no visible air traffic in the area at the tine of
this sighting. Military Flight Service has no knowledge of any traffic in that
area at that time,
(11) ‘This report prepared by the Operations Staff Officer, 14th Fighter Croup
oe (Air Defense), Bthan Ailen Air Foxce Dase, Winooski, Vermont. It is felt that
| this UPOD report holds some validity, since one of the reporting witnesses, dir
WiiRpewas a pilot in the Air Porce, with the grade of Captain. He was unable
to offer any possible explanation of the sighting. Nowever, he brought out that

the absence of any low flying aircraft in this area, it would appear that this
observation was caused by his sighting of some star, possibly caused by his
previous talk with this Gem, ‘his particular investigation can find
no other reason for the sishting.
