Rocket Seen,

Unit Says
The rocket of Sputnik I was
seen by a number of Miami
Valley skywatchers last night,
according E. Sutter, presi-
dent of the Miami Valley Astro-
nomieal society.
Sutter said "the rocket passed
low in the western sky about
20 degrees off the horizon. It
went above Venus and below
*-0* the moon."
It passed in a northwest to
southwest direction at 6:22 p.m.
said Kenneth E. Kissell, chair-
man of the soclety's satellite
program.
Kissell also sald, "It was vis

that the location of Sputnik I
is unknown, although Sutter
said he believed the rocket was
now ahead of the satellite. The
radio in Sputnik I has been
