Dear Sir:
Enclosed is a sketoh of ths aky on the date and time indicated. Can you explain
the abjeot I sav. My wife also saw it. cbject, an ic lontical,

l oy, but
plcked up the satellite at approximataly 7:59 as scheduled, in Cassiopaia, and
tracked it to the point below Serpans indicated. At this point a blinking,
swiftly moving objsot appeared likaly to collide with Sputndck and we vatched it
apellboumd. What apparently were two jots flying fast and high appoared out of
the southwest in the wake of the objeot which itself was soundlass. By the tira
the planes raached the zenith, the object hax disappeared in the N.E, and I
could not hoar the jet enginas ovarhend until tho planes, each bearing greeniah-
blua lights, were midway to the eastern horizon.
In tha glasses the object ard Sputaick appeared be double, while the rocket
appeared as a single, flashing object. I think I say a secord satollita travaling
from vest to east.
Sincerely yours,
