III. SOURCE'S ETSCRIPTION OF SICHTING:..SOURCE initially sighted UFCB,.after
being notified by Mrs Carmichael, Calif) at 240730Z
Jun 57, at a magnetic bearing of 230 degrees, 20 degrees offthe horizon. SCURCE
described t the UFOB as being blinding white to 'naked eye. He went inside to get his
binoculars (&x30 coated lense) and returned with his wife to view the UFOB again.
The UFOB 3 appeared through the binoculars as lizht "tinged" with red. Described
as flame. He stated that he saw the object for three (3) minutes through the
binoculars while it was stationary. The total time it remained stationary was aporox
10 minutes, at a distance of aporoximately one (1) mile from SOURCE. The object
then started moving toward ScuRcE in a climb, reaching overhead in approx one (1)

Shortly after sighting the object, it rose to an angle off the horizon
with a very ropid soeed. SOURCE had no idea of the time, but stated t that her
husband hadn't to foous his binoculars before it started rising. The object
changed altitude, and started noving on a course of
aoprox 10 dagrees magnetic bearing, keeping the same altitude, until it disappeared.
The object did not fale out of sight, but went out of sight Like someone turning
off a light switch", ScUrOE observed the object through her husband's binoculars,
and stated that the objoct was triangular shaned, with two white lights, one on
each point of the triangle, and a din red light on the trailing points of the triangle
The sire was juited to be that of a large plane, and the binoculars Cave the inpres-
judge gave
rumble for'approx 1 second while overhead,
that wes folt ao well as heard. The vibration it gave off was of the same frecuency
as jet laaves passing overhead. SoURcE stated positively the width was trico the
lesgth. The eurtace of the objeet was described as nonreflective, and the same
tone as the aky, but blocking out the sly. The object covered 1/3 of the binocular
visual area while overnead.
