COMMENTS

This was the farth sirhtirg in this
area in a period of a few days (see
comments o° preliminary report preparing
officer), Due to the distance from the
nearest AISS unit, a complete follow-up
investigation has not been avthorized.
However, this Eqs sent ATIC Forms 16) to
secure additional information for each
of this sightings. In addition, ar AF
Form 112 has been received from Det #6y

Analysis of the returned ATIC forms and the AF Form 112 indicates the followings

1. The 09/0),002 Sighting was not related to the cther sighthines; it definitely
Was a meteor. A

2. The 10/0235Z sighting was not reported by sources in the ATIC forms. (Several
copies of the ATIC Forms were sent to each source and they were asked to complete a form
for each sighting.)

3. The ATIC Form 16) description of the 11/02312 Sirhting indicates that this sigtt ir
was possibly caused by a helicopter.

a. A brief description of sighting from ATIC Form is as follows:

Object was golid red when stationary and red with a white middle when moving.
Object travelled from NE to N ona slightly ascending flight path. Durins its course,
object hovered in one spot for appreximately 8 minutes. Objectm was viewed visually
for a total 6f 15 mimtes and disappeared by its light suddenly going out. No’ sound
was heatd due to distance away from object. {AF Form 112 reports that a sound resenblirg
a helocontée was heard.)

In light of above considerations and the wind directior, evaluation of this sighting
is possibly aircraft (helocopter),
