At 2315Z 20 May 56, Columbia, Temresses GOC Post (CF35B) reported citing
four or more unknom flying objects four or five miles ESE of post between
two banks of clouds on a generally clear and sunny day. Objects described
as somenhat flat and round and reflecting or flashing light. Generally
hovering but also moving up and down and sideways at times. Altitude est-
imated 20-30,000 feet Objects in view about three or four minutes and
claimed to definitely not be conventional or known aircraft by three teenage
and one adult GoC voLunteer.
Report irmediately reported by AF instructor on duty to TwIGG and OAK
HILL-radar sites TWIGG a assumed control since it had a jet in the area but
disclaimed any radar sightings in vicinity of Columbia, Tennesses.
Av instructor believed no other action necessary, also failed to notify
Detachnent Commander. Filter Center had AFR 200-2 on requisition and net.
