10 Burlington Airport control tower was made to detar-
mine if there were any aircraft in the area on dates and times of sigh-
tings. Tower gavs a negati report.
2. Phone call was made to the Burlington weather station. No balloons releases
were made at the time of sightings or immediately prior to the time of sigh-

altitude were from the NW on both dates, and it was possible for balloons to
travel from the north central part of the states into the area.
3. A check was made with the 764th AC&w Squadron, St. Albans, Vermont. Intel-
ligence personnel informed the irvestigator of several projects being con-
ducted involving the use of balloons. Investigator was shown track logs
made on the dates of the sightings, but no entries were made which would

objects were directly overhead and appeared brighter than the other four (h) -
located approximately 35o bove the horizon and 8o to the lert of the other
two (2objects. The weather was clear with few scattered clouds,
cool and dry There was no moonlight and few stars. Two objects rere approxi-
mately the size of a grapefruit, and the two (2).directly overhead were approxi-
mately the size of a dime. Cbjects were very faint and seemed to emain sus
pended. Cjects were triangular shaped with a s small tail suspende beneath
(See Incl 1). One object moved behind a cloud and re-appeared ∞jects
star, but retained a clear outline. Objects were in the same position when
May 56 with the exception that only four (4) objects were observed. Mr. Wilt
shire was facing north at the time of the sightirg and observed only ors 1)
obj ect move. He did not remember the direction of flight. The moon was out
on the evening of the 13 May 56. he objects were fanned out across the sky
from east to west. Western most cbject.was approximately 15 cm north and
about 20o above the horizon. Two objects were located close due
north fram Mr. Wiltshire's position. These objects were approximataly 35o above
the horizon. The eastem most object was movirg very fast in an approximate

III. SOURCE'SI DESCRIPTION OF SIGHTING: Mr. WhitemORe went duty at the Morris-
ville C0C Post at 2200 hours EST, 13 May 1956 and was shown the object by
Mr. Raymond Wiltahire. Mr. Whitemore observed d only two objects for a pericd
of approximately l hour. Mr. Whitemore stated the object at the end of the
sighting appeared to burst and disappear from view. He stated the objects
were clearly outlined against the sky and approximately the size of
bright stars. Mr. Whitemore stated the objects were west of his position
at the time of sighting. He did not note their direction of flight or
approximate altitude. SOURcE was both unwillirg and unable to sketch
