of a radiosonde weathe: -iloon from the Greater Pittsburg jAirport being sighted in the

III. SOURCE'S DESCRIPTION OF SIGHTING: SOURCE stated hg was standing beside his
car on the northern outskirts of Oxford, Pa, at 03/1615Z O¢t 55 when he sighted an
object to the north. His first impression (being a pilot) was that someone had mra-
chuted from an aircraft and the parachute Was a streamer (did not inflate). He did
not hear or see an aircraft in the vicinity. The shape of the object was similar to
a Cigar standing on end. The color was du 1 white, gray or i aa \
-SCURCE was facing north, the object appeared to be aprox 70° vee the horizon
at an altitude of aprox 40,000 feet and at a distance estimated tio be apron LO miles.
The object appeared to be drifting with the wind with no apparent means of propulsion |
visible. SOURCE observed this object ack ek 20 minutes as it drifted to ‘the south-
east at a speed aprox 40 to 50 mph, at which time the object faded fron sight. A
small amount of what seem to be smoke or gas cetera near the tase of the object
momentarily but dissipated very sessanty Set . ;
SOURCE estimated the sise of the UFOB to be as sili asa 5" pencil held at arms
length.
SOURCE also sighted two (2) very small dark pbjucts adjacent to the large object.
Cne was positioned north of the large object and moved slowly to the north until it
faded fran sight. This object was observed for a period of aprox 15 minutes. The
second small object was positioned to the west of the. large object ami moved slovly
to the west until it, too, faded fram sight. This second object was observed for a
period of aprox 7 to 8 minutes. SOURCE described, these small objects as mere species.
The day was clear with a slight surface wind.'
No photographs were taken of the UFOB.
SOURCE stated that "weather balloon equipment" had been located in the vicinity
of the UFOB sighting in the past.
