wisht be the basis ior testing telepmone equipment from the bottom of
the gea,

The Javy ls aiways intereated to hear new ideas for inproving its
equipwent and iy eepeclally pleased to hear from individuai citizens
who wish to bring these matters to the Navy's attention, The avy
is fortunate in having ‘eveioped many specialized techniques for

testing equipment for unierwater craft and for observing and learning
the sea, I believe ‘hat our knowledge of these matters has advanced

so far that we will uot ve able to make use of your idea which you
have so kindly submitted to us.

it is my understandiog that the Department of the Air Fores is coordinating
all reports on unidentified flying objeete and for this reason, I om
taking the liberty of ‘forwarding your letter to that Department for
evalustion and further reply te you.
